High Noon

Adapted from I didn’t Execute the Mission by Arieh Segev by Shmuel Vilozhny

The trauma of the 1973 Yom Kippur War caused irreparable shifts in the Israeli psyche, scarring a generation, leaving fault
lines throughout Israeli Society that continue to shape its socio-political landscape. In a coordinated and surprise attack on Yom Kippur,
an onslaught of 1,400 Syrian tanks attacked approximately 180 Israeli tanks, while along the Suez Canal fewer than 500 Israeli defenders were
attacked by 80,000 Egyptians. Nationally it was a disaster; socially, it was a catastrophe. Nearly 2700 men were killed in two weeks of fighting.
This play draws you into the debriefing room of a returned POW from the Suez front as Officer and Soldier wrestle with the implications of the war.
