Class Description:
A research talk by Jason von Ehrenkrook. Ehrenkrook received his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies last year at the University of Michigan, with a specialization in Jewish history during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan . His dissertation examines the theme of iconoclasm in the writings of Flavius Josephus, using this literary material as a window into the process of negotiating Jewish identity in Rome in the wake of the Judean revolt of 66–73 C.E.
